Watercolour in the Highlands Art Retreat

We are so happy you are here and are delighted to invite you to an informative three-night art retreat happening this Spring! Your time will be spent on the shores of Halls Lake in Algonquin Highlands at our charming, family owned and operated Cottage Resort & Lodge. Make yourself at home in one of our well-appointed, cozy cottages. Stroll and reflect as you breathe in the natural beauty surrounding the property. Indulge in the elevated, home cooked meals served with much care by our trained chef. Create lasting memories and beautiful art pieces with a fantastic group of ladies!

During your stay there will be plenty of free time for you to unwind. Paddle along the picturesque Halls Lake, relax on a muskoka chair with your feet in the sand, get lost in a good book, or take a much needed nap.

About the Artist

Clarice is a Watercolour Artist, Designer, Creative Entrepreneur & Mama from Toronto, Canada. Known for her vibrant online presence and successful YouTube channel, Clarice specialized in loose watercolour florals and shares her knowledge in a relaxed & fun manner. Clarice is also an ambassador of the well known Princeton Brushes Co. Don't miss this opportunity to learn in-person from this sweet soul - she is so excited to share her love of art with you all!

A word from your Host

Hi Ladies! I’m Tara and I work at the charming Cottage Resort who is hosting you for this year's art retreat! I’m super excited to be sharing this space as you explore your painting skills and take time for yourself to unwind and refresh.

With years of experience in various hospitality endeavours, I’ve developed a passion for creating one-of-a-kind experiences while delivering exceptional, and personalized care to each special guest. My desire while you're here is that you would experience the peacefulness found at Shalom by the Lake. So join us as we explore watercolour art together!

Sleeping Arrangements

Make yourself at home in one of our cozy 2 or 3 bedroom cottages. Choose between a private room (double or queen bed) or bunk up in a shared room (two single beds). Each cottage is equipped with a 3-piece washroom, full-sized kitchen, and a living room.These common areas will be shared with the other participants staying in your cottage.

Feel free to bring along your favourite snacks and beverages. There will be plenty of storage and fridge space in your cottage.

Retreat Itinerary

Day 1

Check into your cozy cottage from 2pm onwards.

Settle in and get refreshed! Explore the grounds or relax at the lake.

Join us for a casual welcome reception at the Lodge to meet with your fellow creatives while sipping on specialty cocktails and snacking on a delicious charcuterie spread.

A scrumptious dinner will be served at 6:30pm followed by free time to unwind for the following day.

Day 2

Start your day with a yummy home cooked breakfast served at the lodge. Following breakfast, we will meet together for our first workshop with Clarice.  A buffet lunch will be served followed by free time to relax, explore and wander.

Explore various watercolour techniques during our afternoon art workshop. Clarice will be present, offering support, and advice as you paint.

We will meet for a delicious dinner together, enjoying each other's company. Unwind in the evening, or meet up for a casual evening by the campfire sipping on hot chocolate and making s’mores.

Day 3

Start your day with a yummy home cooked breakfast, served at the lodge.

Following breakfast, we will meet together for another inspiring workshop with Clarice.

A buffet lunch will be served followed by free time to relax, explore and wander.

Explore various watercolour techniques during our afternoon art workshop. Clarice will be present, offering support, and advice as you paint.

Get all dolled up and join us for a tapas style dinner & wine tasting experience followed by a fun evening of music and mingling together. Bring your phones as there will be plenty of photo opportunities!

Day 4

Indulge in a farewell home cooked breakfast together, served at the lodge.

Following breakfast, we will meet together for an art wrap up and to wish a farewell to our new-found friends!
